LTA Research begins outdoor flight testing

The next phase of outdoor flight testing for LTA’s first full-size airship began today when Pathfinder 1 emerged from Hangar 2 at Moffett Field.

After Pathfinder 1 was led out of the hangar, the LTA team conducted outdoor flight operations testing, including monitoring and measuring the response of the UV-resistant outer covering and 13 helium bags to sunlight. Rigorous flight tests will continue on the proof-of-concept airship to ensure safety and reliability.

Following this important milestone, LTA is a step closer to realizing our vision of building and flying modern airships.
